Upholstery Cleaning in Greater Cincinnati

Sofas, sectionals, armchairs, ottomans, and dining chairs cleaned to match the fabric, so the color comes back and the piece feels fresh again. Most people book it right alongside a whole-home carpet clean.

Why fabric matters

The same clean that helps one sofa can ruin another

Your couch takes more of a beating than you'd think. Movie nights, snacks, the dog who isn't technically allowed up there but definitely gets up there — it all soaks into the fabric. A good clean pulls that back out. The wrong clean leaves watermarks, or worse, shrinks the fibers so the cushions never sit right again.

That's why we start with the fabric, not the machine. Upholstery carries a manufacturer cleaning code, usually printed on a tag under a cushion, and it tells us exactly how the piece is allowed to be cleaned:

  • W — safe with a water-based method.
  • S — solvent only; water will leave rings.
  • WS — either water or solvent is fine.
  • X — vacuum only; no wet cleaning at all.

No fake certifications here, just knowing how to read that code and match the method to it. That one check is the difference between a sofa that looks new and one that's stained a lighter shade than it started.

How we clean it

A careful process, start to finish

First we inspect the piece and find the cleaning code, then check the seams and any worn or sun-faded spots so nothing surprises us mid-job. We point out anything that might not come all the way out before we begin.

Next we pre-treat the soiled areas and give the solution time to break down body oils and spills. From there the method depends on the fabric. Durable, water-safe upholstery gets a gentle hot water extraction that rinses the loosened soil away. Delicate or solvent-only fabrics get a low-moisture clean instead, which lifts the grime without soaking the cushions.

Then we control the dry. We groom the fabric back into place and move air across the piece so it dries evenly, without the rings or stiffness that come from a job left too wet. We'll tell you roughly when it's ready to sit on again — usually a few hours.

What comes out

The stuff working its way into your cushions

Most of what dulls a sofa is invisible until it's gone. We pull out the body oils that build up on armrests and headrests, the food and drink spills that never quite wiped clean, and the everyday grime that settles into the weave and quietly darkens the whole piece.

Pet hair and dander are a big one in Cincinnati homes. Furniture is where it collects most, and a proper clean lifts it out of the fabric instead of just off the top. If your couch has picked up a lingering pet smell, that needs more than a surface pass — our pet stain and odor treatment uses enzymes that break down the source of the odor rather than covering it. We'll always be straight with you: if an accident soaked deep into the cushion foam, the smell can be stubborn, and we'll say so up front.

What it costs

Sofa cleaning, straight pricing

A sofa typically runs $80–$175, depending on the fabric and the size — a compact loveseat sits at the low end, a large sectional at the high end. Chairs, ottomans, and dining chairs are priced by the piece.

Since we're already on site, adding upholstery to a carpet job is the most cost-effective way to do it. Want the full picture first? See our carpet cleaning cost guide for how whole-home pricing works.

The smart pairing

Do it with the carpet

Nine times out of ten, upholstery gets booked alongside a whole-home carpet clean — and for good reason. A freshly cleaned carpet makes a tired sofa stand out, so it's worth handling both in one visit. You get a room that feels genuinely refreshed instead of half-done, and one trip instead of two.

Good questions

Upholstery cleaning FAQ

Most sofas and chairs are dry to the touch in 3 to 6 hours. Low-moisture cleaning on delicate fabrics can be even quicker. We move air across the piece and tell you how long to wait before you sit down again.

Usually, yes. Surface body oils and light accidents respond well to cleaning and enzyme treatment. If urine has soaked through the cushion foam, the smell can be harder to fully remove, and we will tell you that honestly before we start.

Yes, and it is the most common way people book us. We are already set up in your home, so adding a sofa or a few chairs to a whole-home carpet clean is easy and efficient.

Not when the method matches the fabric. We check the manufacturer cleaning code first. Watermarks and rings happen when a water method is used on a fabric that should only be cleaned with a solvent or a dry, low-moisture approach.
